Sailor Mermaid

Here's Sailor Mermaid! Since she was never shown in the manga, I had to design her without any real basis.
(okay, that's a bit of a lie. more savvy Naoko fans people might notice her similarities to a certain pink mermaid princess...)

We know even less about Sailor Mermaid than Sailor Mau or Sailor Coronis - the only denizen of Planet Mermaid that appeared in the manga was Aluminum Siren herself. Like the others, Aluminum Siren murdered Sailor Mermaid and stole her star seed to win Galaxia's favor before Galaxia destroyed their planet.

I deliberated for a while, but eventually I went with a seafoam green for her color theme, which is really pretty. I imagine that like the Mau and the people of Coronis, who can shapeshit between humanoid and an animal form, Sailor Mermaid is from a race of people who could be considered mermaids. Planet Mermaid is mostly water, with small islands, and unlike the landlocked race of sirens, the mermaids can willingly go between swimming the wide oceans and walking on land, much to the resentment of some of the sirens. It's this resentment that eventually causes Aluminum Siren to betray her planet's guardian senshi.

I think Sailor Mermaid herself was a bit airheaded and bubbly princess, beloved by nearly everyone in her kingdom. She fell in love easily and was very impulsive, disappearing to explore the oceans for months at a time. Despite this, she'd always appear if her planet ever needed her.

Edit: After Some feedback I tried to add a few things to make her design a bit more interesting and like a senshi without looking completely like swimwear.

Sailor Mermaid has got the weridest senshi name. I mean, there's sailors and mermaids, but wtf Sailor Mermaid. And if she was a princess, she'd be a mermaid princess named Princess Mermaid....
